2-Day Gorilla Tracking Tour in Rwanda

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our tour guide. After a brief orientation and overview of the tour, we will embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northwest of Rwanda. The journey will take you through the picturesque Rwandan countryside, with its rolling hills and lush green landscapes.

Upon arrival in Musanze, the town near Volcanoes National Park, check into your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for an immersive experience into Rwandan culture and traditions. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the exciting gorilla tracking adventure the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park and Return to Kigali Today is the highlight of your tour! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking guidelines and safety measures. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track and divided into small groups with an experienced guide.

Begin your trek into the dense forests of Volcanoes National Park, home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can be challenging, depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience is incredibly rewarding. Once you locate the gorillas, spend an hour observing and photographing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Watch as they interact, play, and go about their daily lives – an unforgettable experience.

After the trek, return to your lodge to freshen up and have lunch. Then, we will drive back to Kigali. If time permits, take a short city tour of Kigali, visiting landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local markets. Finally, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of an incredible 2-day gorilla tracking adventure in Rwanda.
